MUSICAL MYSTERY

Last week, in the providence of God, Chessbase published an interesting article about a movie director.

Contained in the article was this video clip of the movie Paths Of Glory.  A young woman sings a song to a beautiful melody, it is a German folk song.

I am 100% certain the same melody has been used in N. Ireland for certain Hymns but I cannot remember which ones. I have been wrecking my brain for days trying to work it out.
It is the sort of melody which is hard to get out of your head once you hear it.

The closest Hymn I have been  able to fit to the melody is "He Lifted Me."

A friend informed me Vera Lyn did a version of it.

Probably one of the most recognised "Irish songs" is Danny Boy, it is very well known. Sadly most people do not recognise that it is sentimental garbage, which seeks to promote the loony notion of "Prayers for the dead."

It is totally anti-Biblical, there is no such thing as prayers for the dead. All Christ rejecters go immediately to Hell at the point of death, their fate is sealed for all eternity.

All true believers go immediately to heaven when they die.

Here is a version of "Danny Boy" by Judith Durham.

It is not widely known that the Londonderry Air is also used for a beautiful hymn titled "I cannot tell."

It is not widely known that one day Elijah the prophet will leave heaven and once again appear in Jerusalem, just prior to the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Guess what Elijah and his companion are going to do?  They are going to "terrorise" the world! lol

Revelation 11:3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.
These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth.
And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.
6 These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.
And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.
And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.
10 And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
11 And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.
12 And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.
13 And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.
