A DEVELOPING STORY

A controversy in the making has just began, due to the actions of a young female Chess player turning down the opportunity to play in Iran because of  the enforced dress code of the Shia Muslim nation.

This is not the first time Iran has had trouble with women folk. Queen Vashti refused being made a spectacle off by her drunken husband.

This seeming unimportant event, led to Esther becoming the Queen of Persia, which is modern day Iran.

The book of Esther is about the providence of God.

It is widely believed by many, that the book of Esther is the only book of the Bible where God`s name does not appear.  This is not so, God`s name is merely hidden and it appears in acrostic form.

Footnote.

There is an interesting footnote to this.
Earlier in the week an Israeli was putting forth the belief that the Hindi are actually of Hebrew descent. It was on a  friend`s Facebook page.

Esther 1:10 ¶ On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king,
11 To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the crown royal, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.
12 But the queen Vashti refused to come at the king’s commandment by his chamberlains: therefore was the king very wroth, and his anger burned in him.
