CYRUS LAKDAWALA

Purchased two new ebooks by Cyrus Lakdawala. I did not purchase them because I intend to play the suggested lines, I bought them because I enjoy his writing, he is truly hilarious at times, plus his insight is good as well.

At the minute, I am enjoying watching Maurice Ashley`s VOL 1 "What Grandmasters don`t see!"

The position above is just one of the many situations he looks at. It is white to play, you need to see a sequence of moves not just one.

A QUICK CHESS GAME WITH GERRY KELLY

Providence so ordered my steps last week, in such a manner to lead me across the path of convicted IRA/MI5 terrorist Gerry Kelly.

I had a quick game of psychological chess with him.

"See  the way youse go on and on about collusion," I said, "All you have to do is go after the activities of  Sergeant Mike Norman and you will get to the heart of it. But if you do, the British government will respond by revealing every IRA/MI5 informer they know about in retaliation!."

Gerry replied, "That suits me!"

I replied, "That is because you were in jail most of the time!"

Needless to say, Gerry has not publicly mentioned Sergeant Mike Norman, nor will he, neither will any other "Irish Republican."

That was a quick check mate by me!

Another amazing result followed on from victories over Strand 1 and Ballynafeigh 1, totalling 16.5 out of 21 and putting us in second place! 

Firstly, John Bryars got revenge over Ryszard, "hard" though it was! 

There was nothing "marring" David's win over Marron! 

Sam was flummoxed by Masterson's mastery after drawing with him last time! 

John McKenna clinched the match after showing "Stevadore"! 

Finally, Gareth, with 21 seconds left and a piece up, made up for his two defeats against Cairns by forcing perpetual check and "earns" a draw against Cairns! 

Overall, a complete turnaround from our 6-1 defeat to them last time. 

Also, Gareth and the two Johns kept their hopes of a board prize alive. Martin Kelly (Captain ).

SHOCK 4-1 VICTORY AT BALLYNAFEIGH

Kelly`s Heroes came up with another surprise performance tonight, a 4-1 victory.                                                                                        
I was telling my team mates I had read the report on Chess.com about doping tests being introduced at the World Team Championships.

If KH keep winning we will all be getting dope tested! When they dope test me, they will find lots of Amytriptylene and Risperdone!



This is the position reached in my game with DL after white`s move 32.Rc6
According to my computer analysis by Deep Fritz 14, both me and DL have been cheating. We have both played 31 high quality moves.

The position below is the first mistake, it is now black to play and get an advantage, I suspect it may be hard for club players to find the move black should have played?

I will post the recommended move in the comments section later.

Below is a curious position which arose, it is black to play and the Comp is saying black should play 1...Nxe3 2.QxN Bxf4 3.Qd2 with and advantage to black. 

However, I do not fancy trying to play that line, its too hard trying to find all the continuations after this, especially if you are short of time.

Lots of people look at the post which mentions "The Hillbilly Attack." So I have decided to update it by adding a video of the most famous Hillbillies in  world history.

SELF-PROCLAIMED CHESS MASTER ILLUSTRATES 2 THESS 2:11

A very amusing comedy show was broadcast on UK television in 1975, called "Get Some In."

Some MSM articles have stated that it will never ever again be broadcast in the UK, as it is not "politically correct."

SURPRISE WIN FOR KELLY`S HEROES

Last night saw a surprise win for Kelly`s Heroes in their match with Ballynafeigh One. The last two games rounded of a night of great entertainment.

Board one, with David Houston and Gareth Annesley produced fireworks in the closing stages with both players having less than 5 minutes. The game was eventually drawn, but it goes to prove that all draws are not boring games.

The other game between John Bryars and Damien Cunningham also produced fireworks but my team-mate John Bryars sadly lost one time, with both players just having seconds left on the clock.

Overall the result was a 3-2 win for Kelly`s Heroes.

Last week Martin Kelly informed me there seems to be a misunderstanding about the name of the South Belfast team in division one. The division one team is named Kelly`s Heroes and the division 2 team is named the A team.

It reminded me of seeing the movie Kelly`s Heroes when it first came out in the cinema, many years ago.


The whole cinema erupted in hysterical laughter every time Donald Sutherland appeared on the screen!

After much thought, I have come to the conclusion that "HIGHLAND CATHEDRAL" is one of the greatest practical jokes God has ever played on a depraved mankind.

TWO MATES GONE STALE

Providence has led me to discover a video clip, featuring one of the most obnoxious characters on the internet, sitting in judgement upon a Chess match disputed  by the two players.

It is titled "Two Mates Gone Stale," and it shows the highly obnoxious Tony Clifton!

I must point out for overseas readers, that Tony Clifton is a fictional character invented by the late Andy Kaufman.  

Sadly, there are many people who still believe Tony Clifton is a real character. 

Plus there are many people who still think Andy Kaufman is not really dead, he was such an outrageous character in real life, that is why people suspect he faked his own death?

As this is a big fight week for Carl Frampton, I usually get asked by media companies for permission to use a short video of Carl which I filmed in approx 1996.

HORRIBLE BLUNDER 1

A few moments ago I got this position in a Fritz rated game. Fritz rating is set at 2398, I am white and it was white to play.

I was quite happy with this position and I played g4. After such a horrible blunder there is only one thing I can do. Stop playing for the night, take the dog for a walk!

Most club players would be able to see black`s best move after white`s g4 move?

I SUSPECT HE WOULD BE BETTER OFF IN INDIA

Just saw a UK article about a quite young Chess player, who may face expulsion from the UK.

I suspect his Chess would be better supported in India, plus if he stays in England, he will eventually be engulfed in Antichrist`s Kingdom, as England and Wales will eventually be ensnared in it.

I am sure Tania Sachdev will be happy to find him some good sponsorship in India?

Out of all the Bible messages I have heard in my life time. the one about Jacob meeting God is the most striking.

It is based upon the text Genesis 32:24 And Jacob was left alone;

A similar situation for all Chess players, all chess players must work alone unless they are cheating in  some way.

I am now of the opinion Chess, is God`s gift to man.

It is there to remind us how puny we are.

Chess players must make 16 pieces work together in one harmonious way, yet there has never been and never will be any human who can accomplish  this feat effectively in every game.

Yet the one true God is able to co ordinate every detail of eternity in one harmonious way.

JOSEPH`S COAT OF MANY COLOURS

It is thought that Joseph`s coat of many colours was actually Tartan.
After all it is s perfect description of tartan.

Could it have been Red, White and Blue tartan? Or could it have been made of other colours.
